Frequently asked questions
Licensing, caption sources and privacy — the things people ask before and after buying.
What does Capture Live Caption do?
It reads live captions on your PC, builds a local transcript, and pastes the latest lines (or a selection) into registered chat windows via a global hotkey.
What’s the difference between Free and Pro?
Free: 1 target window, personal use, Send shows upgrade reminders. Pro: unlimited targets, no reminders, commercial use. Pro is sold as 1 / 2 / 3 year terms (from $29.00 / $49.00 / $69.00) and licenses one PC. When a term expires, the app reverts to Free — transcript and settings stay.
Why does Free show a popup when I Send?
It’s an upgrade reminder. Send still works. Pro removes the reminders.
How many windows can I register?
One on Free. Unlimited on Pro.
Do I need an account?
No. Free needs nothing. Pro only needs an email so we can deliver your purchase code.
Chrome/Edge, Windows 11, or Vosk?
Browser Live Caption is easiest. Windows 11 Live Captions work system-wide. Vosk is fully offline.
One PC — can I move it?
Yes. Contact support for a reissue: we clear the old Machine ID binding, keep the remaining term, and you redeem on the new PC.
I lost my purchase code.
Email us from the address you used at purchase, or use the support form. We’ll look it up.
Can I renew?
Yes. Buy a new code and redeem again on the same PC. Renewals are supported — a second code on an already-licensed machine works.
Refunds?
Refunds are handled manually. Contact support; if approved we refund via the payment provider and revoke the code.
Is my audio or transcript uploaded?
No. Capture stays local. The only network call for licensing is redeem: purchase code + Machine ID.
